A New Adventure Awaits...
We are so excited to announce that we are getting ready to open our doors at Diamond Resorts’ Thurnham Hall! This is a very exciting adventure for all of us here at Chef’s Catering Northwest and we cannot wait to extend our services further!
On the 30th September, we invited the members at Thurnham Hall to a very special evening where they got an exclusive sneak peek at our menu – designed especially for Thurnham Hall and its members and guests – and the chance to sample a selection of wines provided by Marston’s Brewery. Working with our members, we were able to decide on five wines that will always be available behind the bar for both members and non-members alike – two red wines and three white. Making up our red wines, we have the Alta Vista ‘Vive’ Malbec: a vibrant and fresh flavour with notes of plum, berry fruits, vanilla and hints of oak. Following this we have the Borsao Garnacha: an easy drinking red with flavours of bramble fruit and redcurrants.
Our white wines are made up of the Nika Tiki Marlborough which is a lovely Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand and has a thoroughly refreshing zingy lime, lemon and tropical fruit characters. We also have the Eidosela Albarino, Rias Baixas which has a classic bright acidity and lively texture with notes of minerals, lemon, grapefruit and nectarine and the Colli Vicentini Pinot Grigio delle Venezie – a fruity, floral wine with peach and citrus notes and a dry finish.
Alongside this our members also got the chance to meet with Gemma Gardner and Robert Muncaster, Director of Operations and Outside Catering Head Chef respectively, and talk through their menu. Rob had created his own canape menu for the evening and each table had their own individual slate to sample. For our business, family is everything and each new venue is just an extension of our family, so spending the time talking to and getting to know our members is incredibly important to us!
Like at all of our venues and events, we are extremely strict on following current government guidelines with regards to the COVID-19 pandemic so each table of two was set to ensure each couple were from the same household and each table received staggered arrival times. This enabled us to maintain our own safety as well as the safety of all of the other members and staff at Thurnham Hall.
We have been working very hard behind the scenes alongside Thurnham Hall to create this brand new partnership which will not only be to members and the public, but will also allow us to extend our homely meals service – Chefs Catering Northwest at Home – to the wider Lancaster area. We have also secured our very first event here in the summer of 2021 with the grounds of Thurnham Hall being the perfect backdrop to any event from wedding receptions to those milestone birthdays and even fine dining evenings.
